Getting bored... during church.

We all have been in a state where we weren't really feeling very hyped up about God. But are you like that all the time?

A lot of us will go to church because our parents force us, reward us or because we feel guilty.  For example, some parents will extend their teens curfews if they go to church. Some churches even give candy to kids if they are able to sit through the service! This teaches kids that:
1. Church is boring
2. That they only go in order to get rewarded

Let's admit it, sometimes we can get a little bored or confused with the things that go on during church.  So how do we stop this?

*Pray (tell God that you are getting bored)- God will understand if you get bored. You can also pray that you won't get bored.  This works for me a lot.
*Join youth group or a teen club-Most teens find it boring because most of the stuff they talk about during church doesn't really apply to them. Joining a youth group means you can focus on problems of your age group, talk about them and even make some new friends!
*Get a bible you can understand-Not everyone can understand the KJV (King James version). Getting a teen bible will help you understand the true meanings of the scriptures.  Some bibles even have stories about real teens that apply to some of the scriptures in the bible.
*Join an exciting church-When I say exciting, I mean EXCITING! This means people singing, dancing, shaking hands etc.  This will also give you a new perspective of worship.

Bible verses on this topic:
*Psalms 139:1-12 and Hebrews 4:12-13 (God knows everything about you, even your thoughts!)
*Revelation 3:15-16 (Jesus doesn't like halfhearted people)
