Today I have a very special post! Tree By The River is one of my favorite christian blogs, he is very encouraging and inspirational. I gave him a few questions to answer so I hope his answers will bless you somehow. If you haven't checked out the blog Tree By The River, you can view it at http://treebytheriverblog.blogspot.com
1) Why and when did you start your blog?
I started my blog in 2010, when I was 14, basically because I was thinking encouraging thoughts about God and wanted to share it with the world.
2) Why and when did you become a Christian?
I have always called God my Father, as my parents, who were missionaries in Japan, preached the gospel to me everyday in words and in their actions. I am a Christian because I understand my utter helplessness and am in awe that God would still save a sinner like me, and transform me so I can obey him better everyday.
3) What is your favorite story in the bible and why?
This changes all the time! Currently, it is Isaiah's call by God, because even though he is awed by God's power, he still puts himself forward to serve him.
4) What is your favorite scripture/verse in the bible and why?
Isaiah 60:19 "The sun will no longer be your light by day, and the brightness of the moon will not shine on you; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your splendor." This is so great because it promises that even in the darkest times, when the sun or moon has disappeared, God will be our light that will never, ever fade. And it says that our glory only ever comes from God.
5) What do you stand for?
Hmmm, never heard this question before, but my motto I guess is "Faith lived out to its fullest". I never want to succumb to comfort or worldly desires but always serve God as much as I can.
6) Even though God is indescribable, do you think of God as a friend, father, creator etc?
God, is my Father, who I can 100% rely on, 100% commit to, and who will 100% transform me through his Holy Spirit and Jesus' sacrifice into a son that he is proud of.
7) If someone is reading this right now, and they don’t know whether or not to give their life to Christ, what words of encouragement would you give them?
God, the creator of the universe loves you and wants to be in a relationship with you! Check out the evidence to see if this is true, because If it is true, this is amazing!
8) Do you have any favorite preachers, bands, tv shows etc. that are Christian related?
Josh Garrels is my favourite artist. He is a fellow brother in Christ who God has gifted with an amazing musical and lyrical ability to help me stay strong in my faith. He even gives his music out for free on Noisetrade.
9) What is your favorite parable in the bible and why?
The parable of the lost sheep, because, I am encouraged as an evangelist, that God is as much looking out for my non-christian friends as I am. So I am just taking part in his mission to save the world.
10) If you feel that you are being spiritually attacked, what do you do to help calm yourself down?
Remembering bible verses is a great way to remind yourself that you are loved by God the creator, and to encourage yourself to continue obeying him, no matter what.
11) Have you ever had a supernatural encounter?
Every time I read my bible its a super natural encounter! The creator of the universe is speaking to me, and that is awesome.
12) Do you feel fortunate about living in a developed country, why?
We are definitely blessed to live in such abundance, but I do fear that this blessing can stop us from giving out all to serve Jesus, that's why I'm super keen to be a missionary and give up comfort to
13) Is there anything else you would like to say to anyone who is reading this right now?
Go read some more of the bible, perhaps Colossians, and pray. We have the blessing of being in God's presence, so let's use it!
That was 'tree' the blogger of Tree By The River. Don't forget to check his blog out, it truly is amazing!
